This was made at the Spike Island Art Centre in Bristol, England, where I spent a week as an artist-in-residence. My process typically involves no pre-planning and is improvisational and based on memory. I don't generally use photographic sources, or other kinds of sources for such images. Instead I draw a line, which leads to another line, and in ten minutes, a drawing like this one emerges. Drawing as a form of play.
